Vertiv is hiring an IP Legal Analyst in Columbus, Ohio to provide intellectual property (IP) administrative support to the head of IP, other IP attorneys, IP Paralegal and Global Patent Coordinators and other legal professionals as necessary. The individual will be an integral part of the legal team in Vertiv's intellectual property group. Although the person will be primarily responsible for providing IP support to Vertiv, the individual may also have exposure to other practice areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Review, handle docketing, update and manage IP database, assist with monthly and quarterly reporting.
File applications at the USPTO - I think patent agents would like this skill
Draft standard correspondence; proofread, edit, and format documents.
Organize and maintain electronic and paper document files.
Attention to other administrative tasks including mail and expense reports.
Manage billing system - Legal Tracker setting up cases, working with AP and other departments, running reports They won't be doing this unless we decide to have them set up the IP cases in Legal Tracker - but the rest of this would be done by Alejandra - perhaps we could train as a backup.
Prepare documents to be executed in PandaDoc
Upload documents into ICertis and Agiloft
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education Level
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience
2-5 years of Intellectual Property Experience in a law firm or corporate legal department preferred or experience as a legal administrative assistant
Special Skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent project management skills.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiar with legal services billing systems.
Familiar with Computer Packages Annuity IP management systems a plus and IP docketing systems.
Familiar with Smartsheet and Sharepoint.
Familiar with USPTO website and filing requirements.
