Under general supervision, performs the administrative functions related to medical and house staff credentialing. Provides administrative support to related Credentialing Committees.
II. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Performs reference checks on medical staff applicants by preparing and sending letters for verification to prior hospital affiliations, medical schools, National Practitioner Data Bank, Board of Physician Quality Assurance, etc.
Collects data directly from practitioners such as curriculum vitaes, copies of state licensure, D.E.A. information, and Insurance information. Requests information from other internal Hospital departments including Medical Records, Risk Management, and Quality Assurance that aid in the reappointment process.

Qualifications
III. Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. Associate of Arts Degree in Health Sciences, Medical Records, or related is preferred.
Two years credentialing experience is required.
Credentialing software experience, MD Staff, a plus.
IV. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of The Joint Commission, NCQA, Federal, and State requirements regarding the credentialing process.
Knowledge of personal computers including work processing and spreadsheet software is required for logging and tracking credentials through the medical system. Knowledge of credentialing software is preferred.
Ability to gather and coordinate required information under strict time lines is required.
Ability to pay close attention to detail is required in order to comply with credentialing requirements.
Highly effective verbal communication, presentation skills, and writing skills are necessary in order to work with medical or nursing staff.
Additional Information
Position offers a hybrid work schedule after 60-90 days on site training. 3 remote days a week with 2 on site.
