The Thought Leader Liaison, Northeast Region, is a new role added as part of an expansion of our current TLL team, growing from 2 to 6. This new TLL team will be executing on a plan to advance the care for Recurrent Pericarditis patients through specialist centers who are leading on improving the awareness, diagnosis, and care for this rare autoinflammatory cardiovascular disease.
Pertinent focus is on the identification and cultivation of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in Recurrent Pericarditis (RP), both at current centers of excellence for Pericardial Diseases, as well as at emerging centers who are looking to become prominent in the disease space. The core aim of this role is to deliver additional value to patients who are suffering from RP; by improving the time to diagnosis, enhancing referral pathways, and compliantly advocating for rapid access to key centers who are experienced with managing the disease. The role will work closely with other cross functional teams as needed, to ensure consistency in messaging and advocacy collaboration as appropriate.
In addition, the TLL role will lead activities such as commercial advisory boards, speaker bureau development and execution, KOL congress activities, and other commercial educational initiatives to deliver on business opportunities for Kiniksa.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Drive continued and broader thought leadership at existing Recurrent Pericarditis (RP) centers of excellence within the region
Identify, engage and develop future RP centers of excellence and thought leaders within the region
Compliantly and appropriately support RP centers to improve referral pathways for patients
Solicit disease and brand insights through KOL engagements and share insights with home office cross functional teams to identify market gaps and/or market opportunities to support the development of commercial and marketing strategy, initiatives, and resources
Identify opportunities to collaborate with key institutions on patient care initiatives in Recurrent Pericarditis
Fulfill and support business needs including but not limited to approved consulting opportunities (i.e., advisory boards, review of marketing materials, and KOL videos, etc.), speaker's bureau, congress and regional symposiums
Assess HCP Speaker Bureau candidates, manage the day-to-day relationships, coordinate training, and assist with Speaker Program placement, invitations, logistics, and execution of programs across key internal stakeholders
Operate to the highest standard in alignment with Kiniksa's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and compliance SOPs, ensuring all interactions with KOLs are on-label and consistent with commercial, regulatory, and legal guidelines
Willing to travel up to 90% (within the region) and a valid driver's license is a must.
Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree with 8+ years of biopharmaceutical sales, TLL, and/or key account management experience
Cardiology experience is a plus
Ability to travel up over 100% of the time (5 days a week) with the vast majority (75%) being within region
Demonstrated track record of success in TLL or KAM role
Specialty or rare disease launch experience is desired
Strong ability to build relationships with high-science, clinically minded thought leaders
Successful strategic account management experience at IDNs and/or academic teaching hospitals including engagements with non-clinical personnel (C-Suite, hospital administrators, policy decision makers, etc.)
Strong knowledge of the evolving patient and provider landscape
Working knowledge of compliant and ethical business practices
Strong background in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders

Territory includes New England states, Eastern NY, NJ, and Eastern PA
