POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President and Head of Investor Relations will develop and execute an integrated IR strategy that will align to and promote the business objectives and enhance the image and reputation of the company. This role will lead investor relations strategies and activities, specifically overseeing analyst and investor engagement.
The Head of Investor Relations must partner closely with finance, commercial, corporate communications and the Executive Committee to articulate an accurate and concise message to the investment community as the company embarks on the next phase of its strategy to build a leading, diversified specialty pharmaceutical company.
This leader will be expected to take a strategic and proactive approach toward the execution of the IR function. This individual will need to be investor and capital market savvy, and will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and other functions to sharpen and improve the message regarding where the company is now and where it is going.
The Head of Investor Relations will serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and CFO in preparing for earnings calls, investor meetings, and industry conferences. This role will prepare senior executives for their interaction with the investment community and act as a conduit for information from the investment community to internal stakeholders. It is critical, as a key communications leader, that this individual develop an in-depth, comprehensive understanding of the company's operations, financial performance, and strategies through their interaction with company executives and business leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead a proactive and strategic investor relations function built on best-practices and knowledge of the investment community as the company scales to a leading, diversified specialty pharmaceutical company.
Identify the key metrics used by the buy-side and sell-side to assess performance and results and incorporate those data points into a consistent message.
Work closely with executive leadership to establish the optimal mix of shareholders through targeting initiatives.
Partner with the CEO and CFO to lead and manage the company's participation on quarterly earnings calls, investment conferences, road shows, analyst days, and one-to-one meetings.
Conduct analysis and research in support of the earnings call process, including the analysis of competitor operating results and industry trends. Specifically, the Vice President of Investor Relations will leverage competitive intelligence to craft a concise and differentiating message that sets the company apart from its peer group.
Serve as a primary point of contact for all investor inquiries; cultivate and maintain strong relationships with investors (current and potential future), sell-side research analysts, and other key stakeholders. Provide timely, consistent, compliant, and accurate responses.
Collaborate with senior leadership to create the company's external and internal messaging and ensure all external and internal communications are integrated and consistent.
Collaborate closely with Corporate Communications to ensure a consistent message on branding and strategy.
Along with CEO, CFO, and other members of the senior management team, serve as spokesperson for the company at investment presentations, institutions, individual investor meetings and discussions.
Lead external strategic communications development, such as preparing presentation decks, developing earnings press releases, creating management Q&As, and conference call scripts.
Present and articulate the investor point of view to the executive team and board of directors and make recommendations as necessary and appropriate.
Effectively anticipate investor concerns, questions, and needs by keeping current on the industry and competitive landscape while maintaining a deep understanding of Collegium's business and progress.
Lead internal and external resources as required in support of investor communications and activities.
Maintain and communicate competitive intelligence and analysis and its impact on the business to senior management.
Manage the Investor Relations portion of the company website.
Collaborate with colleagues throughout the company in establishing the strategy development, operating plan, budget, and the detailed execution of the IR operating plan.
Establish a strategic targeting program to attract new investors and sell-side analysts, while maintaining relationships with existing key investors and analysts.
Partner closely with Finance, Legal, Corporate Communications and other departments to ensure accurate and appropriate information for financial reporting, including as part of quarterly communications and regular SEC filings.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required, advanced degree advanced qualification in Finance/Business preferred. (MBA or MS) preferred; 12-14 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical industry required.
Investor relations or equity research (buy-side or sell-side) experience within or covering pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies.
Strong financial acumen; well versed with all of the company's key financial statements. Must have a clear and thorough understanding of financial modelling used by investment professionals to value the organization's performance.
Deep ability to communicate the strategic and financial message to the investor community through live presentation, decks, reports and press releases.
Strong reputation with Wall Street analysts and institutional investors.
An individual with strong emotional intelligence and tenacity for driving change.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with and influence executives and cross-functional team members.
Ability to develop, synthesize and present perspectives on key strategic/financial issues.
Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
