Boutique, mid-size San Mateo law firm seeks a full-time bookkeeper/office manager. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, detailed oriented, reliable, professional, have excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Must be able to multitask and have experience with finances, informal accounting, QuickBooks online, Word, and Excel. Familiarity with Sage Timeslips a plus. This role requires confidentiality and discretion.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Bookkeeping: • Enter attorneys time on a weekly basis • Prepare worksheets at the end of the month • Prepare and send out billing at the beginning of the month • Prepare monthly reports • Accounts payable • Accounts receivable • Maintain general ledger • Reconcile bank and credit card statements • Prepare 1099s and W-2s
Office manager: • Some HR duties, including onboarding new staff, payroll, and health benefits • Manage support staff • Manage outside vendors and contracts • Liaison between property manager and firm • Update website as needed
Experience in a legal office or knowledge of legal terminology is a plus. This is an in-person position, no remote work.
