Job Description:
The Capital Projects Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing capital improvement initiatives across Virginia Transformer's facilities. This role requires expertise in planning, budgeting, and executing large-scale projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure, equipment, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, construction, and manufacturing processes, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of capital improvement projects, including facility upgrades, equipment installations, and infrastructure enhancements.
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Manage project teams, including internal resources, contractors, and vendors, to ensure smooth project execution.
Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses to prioritize capital investments.
Oversee procurement processes, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and material acquisition.
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and organizational policies throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align projects with company goals and operational requirements.
Prepare and present project status reports, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and successes to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on capital projects in manufacturing or industrial environments.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and materials.
Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as MS Project or Primavera.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant certification.
Experience in manufacturing or industrial facilities, with a focus on transformers or similar products.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations affecting construction and capital projects.
