Job Title: Capital Projects Manager

Job Description:

The Capital Projects Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing capital improvement initiatives across Virginia Transformer's facilities. This role requires expertise in planning, budgeting, and executing large-scale projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure, equipment, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, construction, and manufacturing processes, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of capital improvement projects, including facility upgrades, equipment installations, and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Manage project teams, including internal resources, contractors, and vendors, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses to prioritize capital investments.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and material acquisition.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and organizational policies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align projects with company goals and operational requirements.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and successes to senior leadership.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on capital projects in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and materials.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as MS Project or Primavera.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant certification.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial facilities, with a focus on transformers or similar products.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations affecting construction and capital projects.
