Day to Day Responsibilities for the Community Resilience Specialist:
Enhance community resilience and address needs of disadvantaged communities.
Conduct training, workshops, and exercises to raise awareness of threats and hazards.
Coordinate with community leaders, emergency managers, and organizations to improve preparedness.
Develop tools and strategies such as a Language Access Toolkit, equity surveys, and climate resilience plans.
Organize workshops, surveys, and exercises to improve emergency response and evacuation plans.
Top Skills needed for the Community Resilience Specialist:
4+ years of Project Management experience
Experience in emergency preparedness, community resilience, or related fields.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Understanding of climate change impacts and equity issues is beneficial.
