The Product Development Coordinator will ensure all product is executed to the standard of leading brands for our growing women's activewear business! This person will work closely with the Product Development team as well as cross-functional teams within the business. We're seeking someone with an excellent eye for color as well as knowledge of fabric construction and dye method. The ideal candidate will also have experience communicating with overseas vendors and working under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
Receive all lab dips, strike-offs, trims, and bulk production shade bands, make comments; review with Designer and/or Merchandiser for comments on color and quality where necessary
Analyze production samples and review with Designer prior to submitting final comments and/or approvals to production team.
Manage the distribution of color standards & new fabric developments to agent offices domestically and internationally at the beginning of each season and as requests come in
Work with Design, Merchandising, and Production teams and follow up on samples and sample fabric delivery
Set up and maintain the following each season: color & fabric library, fabric approval notebooks, files for lab dips & approved bulk yardage
Update all color changes on color palettes
Send comments to Production team
Manage product assortments, time & action calendars, and development process
Recognize and troubleshoot issues that may cause delivery delays or liabilities then quickly communicate the details of the problem to work through solutions with leadership
Attend fittings with Design Team to keep track of style changes, art updates and graphic placements
Follow up with Production Coordinators, Designers, Sales, vendors regarding any questions that may arise regarding during the development cycle
Qualifications
BA in Product Development or closely related field
3+ years of Product Development or relevant work experience in apparel industry
Strong Illustrator experience
PLM experience is a plus
Knowledge of both knit and woven fabric construction and dye method
Understanding of garment construction with strong product knowledge and deep understanding of production processes
Strong color eye and keen trend awareness
Strong organization and follow up skills with timelines and milestones
Eagerness to learn and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work onsite in an office environment
Annual salary starting at $60,000
