We are seeking a visionary leader for the role of Head of Continuous Improvement to champion and advance our commitment to operational excellence and strategic growth.
Position Overview:
The Head of Continuous Improvement is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the planning, execution, and sustainability of high-impact business improvement initiatives across the organization. Leveraging Lean methodologies, this individual will lead strategy planning and deployment, team and executive training, and continuous improvement efforts that align with Royal Ambulance's mission and strategic goals.
This role is critical in fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence, ensuring that our internal processes, customer-facing operations, and team development initiatives deliver value and drive success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning & Deployment
Lead the organization's Hoshin Kanri process, ensuring alignment between long-term strategic objectives and daily operational execution.
Partner with executive leadership to set priorities and monitor progress against key performance metrics.
2. Team and Executive Training & Coaching
Develop and deliver training programs on Lean principles, project management methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
Coach leaders and teams to build internal capabilities, including facilitating certification programs (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
3. Project Management & Key Initiative Leadership
Oversee the planning, execution, and governance of high-priority cross-functional projects.
Utilize Lean, PDCA, and other methodologies to ensure efficient project delivery and measurable outcomes.
4. Process Improvement
Drive efficiency and innovation across both customer-facing operations and internal processes, focusing on enhancing quality, reducing waste, and improving service delivery.
Collaborate with departmental leaders to identify, prioritize, and execute improvement opportunities aligned with organizational goals.
5. Team Development & Culture Building
Champion a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
Mentor team members to enhance their professional development and embed Lean principles into the organization's DNA.
Qualifications:
Experience and proven results in a leadership role focused on Lean, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence, ideally within a progressive healthcare system.
Strong expertise in strategy deployment frameworks such as Hoshin Kanri.
Demonstrated success in training and coaching leaders and teams on Lean principles, including managing Green and Black Belt certification programs.
Expertise in project management methodologies, including PDCA, DMAIC, or similar.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with a track record of aligning diverse teams around common goals.
