Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Chief Administrative Officer builds administrative structure
and capacity within Chamber and manages functions in the areas of space planning & utilization, policy and procedure development and implementation, internal controls and risk management, fleet management, building access, and overall administrative protocols. The incumbent also manages Human Resources, Financial Administration, and Computer Services, and serves as the overall manager of these teams.
Frequent travel between New York City and Albany is required for this role.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Work with intra-organization team, including Counsel's Office, Human Resources, Financial Administration, and Computer Services, to review, develop, and implement Chamber policies, procedures and protocols.
Lead efforts to respond to independent outside audit of Chamber internal controls.
Partner with OGS on Chamber lease issues and space allocations.
Collaborate with Human Resources, Financial Administration, and Computer Services to ensure a cohesive and collaborative approach to staff onboarding/offboarding and staffing/operational issues.
Coordinate the management analysis function, including organizational planning, resource allocation, workforce plans, and program priorities.
Provide counsel to the Chief of Staff and the Secretary to the Governor on the development of budgetary and fiscal policy, cost effectiveness of programs, and budget priorities.
Monitor workforce, financial, and other metrics to ensure proper allocation and management of resources; and promote accountability.
Partner with the Chief Diversity Officer on Chamber DEI initiatives as well as policy creation and implementation.
Represent the Chief of Staff at meetings, conferences, and public events.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree and at least ten years of progressively responsible relevant work
experience, with a focus on public administration, public policy, law and policy, or other
