Salary/Position Classification


  • $15.00 Hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)

  • 10-20 hours per week

  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No

  • Hybrid Work Availability: No


Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cleans floors in the following areas: Kitchen, service areas, restrooms, storerooms, and dining rooms

  • Uses mops and floor machines as required

  • Sweeps appropriate areas when needed

  • Breaks down cans and boxes and places them in the appropriate bins

  • Cleans up broken plates, glassware, and cookware

  • Replaces and restocks milks when needed

  • Removes refuse from the following areas of the dining center: kitchen, service areas, restrooms, dining rooms, storerooms, and locker rooms

  • Cleans carts, tables, and chairs

  • Rinses and sanitizes garbage cans

  • Maintains orderliness of the storerooms, coolers, and freezers

  • Stocks various inventory items in the kitchen, restrooms, and dining rooms: fills soap and towel dispensers and replaces light bulbs

  • Provide exceptional customer service to our customers

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Able to stand on one's feet for 3-4 hours

  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds

  • Must be able to work with the preparation and disposal of fish, poultry, beef, lamb, pork, and other meat products in professional culinary commercial kitchen

  • Must be able to adhere to all safety and sanitation policies which include removal of all jewelry and piercings (except for a plain wedding bands) while working in our facilities

  • Hairnets and beard restraints are also a requirement in our food preparation areas

  • Incumbents should have an optimistic attitude, willingness to learn new skills, high degree of integrity, and a strong work ethic

  • Enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit for the employed academic semester
