Our client based in Medford, MA is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with experience in startup environment to manage key financial tasks such as financial reporting, balance sheet preparation, account reconciliations, journal entries, and audit support. This position will report to the Accounting Manager.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
2+ years accounting experience required
Experience in Start up or similar industry required
Public accounting experience is preferred; pursuing CPA certification is a plus but not required.
Experience processing journal entries, preparing balance sheets, financial reporting, account and bank reconciliation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and NetSuite required
Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, using accounting software.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Assist with tax preparation and filing while staying informed of changes in tax laws to ensure compliance.
Reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain accurate and complete financial records.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during the reconciliation process.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards to safeguard company assets and maintain the integrity of financial reporting.
Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing documentation and delivering required explanations.
