Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a finance-related discipline required.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
Public accounting experience preferred (CPA pursuit is a plus but not required)
Expertise in balance sheet management, financial reporting, financial controls, reconciliations, reviewing reports, processing journal entries, and audit support.
Experience in Startup or similar environment required
Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Responsibilities:
Managing accounting operations, financial reporting, and preparing monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Ensure the company's financial integrity and support the Accounting Manager in mentoring and guiding team members.
Expertise in balance sheet management, financial reporting, financial controls, reconciliations, reviewing reports, processing journal entries, and audit support.
Reconcile and maintain major balance sheet accounts monthly.
Demonstrate understanding of how balance sheet accuracy impacts financial decisions and company performance.
Audit weekly payroll for accuracy and compliance.
Record weekly payroll activity.
Reconcile payroll expenses quarterly with IRS Form 941.
Understand the financial mechanics of the company's three lines of business:
Assist the Accounting Manager in the monthly closing process and financial reporting.
Compile auditor schedules and fulfill requests during audits.
Provide insights and support to external auditors.
Pull samples for audits and ensure accuracy in audit documentation.
Research accounting policies and review documents or agreements for compliance and accuracy.
Dig into company data to identify and correct discrepancies.
Provide detailed insights to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the business to support accurate financial reporting.
