Position Purpose You will support the temperature controls division of the Building Automation/Temperature Controls business unit through the preparation/engineering of submittals. Ensuring all systems are programmed, as specified. Instructing site personnel on operations and maintenance for control systems. You will be involved in coordinating the planning, design, procurement of essential equipment, and allocation of workforce for each project, ensuring timely, efficient, and economical execution while adhering to customer specifications and meeting predefined deadlines. Ensure that all project contract documentation is up to date and accurate, including project scope, plans, specifications, and other project-related documents.
Recognize changes to the scope of work, scheduling, and other job site factors that impact LONG productivity and profitability.
Direct engineering, preparation of submittals and installation drawings, selection, ordering and scheduling of materials, plus providing installations at the jobsite within the estimated costs indicated on the sales estimate.
Ensure that systems are programmed and commissioned, as specified, and that installed equipment is controlled based on the manufacturers’ recommendations and LONG standards.
Participate in job site final walk-through, complete all job closeout documentation, and provide customer training.
Act as a technical resource for customers and field employees.
Advise construction manager and sales personnel regarding system deficiencies and/or customer complaints and advise appropriate building intelligence personnel.
Available and able to coordinate warranty, after hour, emergency, and maintenance service on installed systems.
Advise construction manager or sales account manager of additional sales potential (both service and contract related).
Inform customers of LONG service agreement availability while performing start-up, commissioning, and owner training tasks.
Ability to travel to and inspect job sites and visit customer locations.
Other duties assigned.
Qualifications
2 years tech school and 3 years temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience OR- 6 years temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience.
Extensive knowledge of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management and smoke removal systems.
Able to perform a complete installation of the control system, and knowledge of construction procedures and State electrical requirements.
Possess good leadership, managerial, communication (written and verbal), and computer skills.
Possess good organizational and planning skills.
Ability to prioritize workflow and self-direct daily schedule and tasks.
