Technical Business Development Senior Manager, Diagnostics
Job Description
The Technical Business Development Senior Manager (Tech BD) has proven success in the areas of creating and selling technical solutions in the areas of Design and Development, VAVE, Test Development, and Manufacturing. The role is responsible for coordinating Product Domain Strategies and leveraging Jabil’s global technical capabilities to deliver high-value solutions to Strategic Customers. This role helps to grow business through providing profitable technical solutions and early-engagement wins. The Senior Manager of Tech BD also provides guidance to relevant technology teams, creates internal and external technical roadmaps, and drives internal technology investment projects.
Responsibilities
Technical Business Development: Actively support the Account Team(s) through developing complex technical solutions, serving as the lead technical point of contact in customer relationships.
Product Domain: Coordinates specific Product Domains by working with an internal team on the domain analysis, including market and technology trends, and competitive landscape assessments of target products.
Capabilities Management: Knows Jabil’s Enterprise-Level Capabilities and leverages them for assigned Accounts. Build/maintain a capabilities network.
Captures technical requirements and creates technology road maps (Internal and External). Assists in developing and implementing strategic direction for the divisional Engineering teams though leading internal technology investment projects.
Develops, manages and delivers highly complex technology solutions for proposals/quotes, including responding to functional/technical elements of RFP’s, developing complex detailed Statements of Work (SOW), business proposals and presentations, project schedules/financials, etc.
Provide technical input to and support execution of account plans.
Serves as primary point of contact for early-engagements on customer R & D projects, including next-gen products
Knows and understands the assigned Business Unit (BU)’s strategic directions and provides input on technical strategy and direction.
Develop and maintain close relationships with existing and potential third‑party suppliers of hardware and software solutions.
Maintain an awareness of the evolving marketplace including new technologies that could be beneficial to integrate into Jabil’s solution suite.
Develops good relationships with technical counterparts at the assigned customer (Sr Engineering Leadership)
Oversees initiatives that enhance Jabil’s technical capabilities.
Presents and sells Jabil’s technology to assigned customer or program. Must be professional and comfortable doing presentations to external senior level engineers and technical leadership (VP Level).
Develop a broad and deep knowledge of relevant projects underway within the business.
Knowledge Requirements

Excellent technical skills (i.e. engineering, R & D, product design/development, commercialization per assigned sector or customer) to align Jabil division with customer’s technology road map
Knowledge and good understanding of Jabil and divisional site capabilities.
In depth knowledge and understanding of technologies required to develop and commercialize Diagnostic Instruments (Clinical Chemistry, Lab, Molecular and Genomic Instruments), with a focus on complex cartridges and device integration technologies.
Strong customer service skills and experience.
Proficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications
Basic financial skill knowledge and aptitude.
Basic leadership/people-management skills.
Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and e-mail skills required.
Education & Background
Advanced s degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) preferably in engineering
Industry experience in Diagnostic Instrumentation is required.
Minimum 8 years work-related experience, preferably in Engineering or Technology fields (i.e. R & D, product design/development, road map processes, commercial process technologies, etc.).
Previous experience in a Sr. Technical Engineering role preferred.
The pay range for this role is $158,286 - $284,914. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.As part of the total rewards package, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive based on performance.
