Software Engineer




Manassas, VA




Contract Position




$41.18-$46.18/Hour



Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.




Responsibilities:

• Research and evaluate new technologies for potential Navy adoption.


• Develop software capabilities using Java Spring, Python, Ansible, and BASH.


• Design and implement high-availability solutions using Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.


• Integrate COTS tools, open-source products, and API-driven solutions.


• Conduct unit testing and integrate software components to ensure system functionality.


• Participate in weekly technical and program meetings.

Qualifications:

• 
  Education: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related field (Science, Engineering, or Mathematics). A Master's degree is also acceptable.


• 
  Clearance: Secret Clearance required.


• 
  Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree. Agile experience is preferred.


• Proficiency in Linux OS (preferably Red Hat or derivatives) and basic shell scripting.


• Experience with Docker/Podman container management.


• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, coding standards, and production-quality software deployment.


• Familiarity with cybersecurity practices.


• Experience with Ansible and Kubernetes container management.


• Knowledge of Agile/DevOps methodologies.


• Experience with distributed, system-of-systems development.


• Competence with virtual machine platforms.


• Basic networking knowledge in Linux environments.
