We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staffing Coordinator to join our team at Aviara Healthcare. The Staffing Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing levels at all times, collaborating with nursing and other department leaders, and handling scheduling adjustments in a timely and effective manner. This role requires a high level of organization, strong communication skills, and a thorough understanding of healthcare staffing requirements to ensure the best care for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Scheduling: Create and manage the staffing schedule for all shifts, ensuring adequate coverage for all departments and compliance with regulations.
Coordination with Departments: Work closely with nursing and other department managers to assess staffing needs and make necessary adjustments to meet patient care requirements.
Staffing Adjustments: Address and resolve last-minute staffing shortages or scheduling conflicts, including finding replacements or adjusting shifts as needed.
Attendance and Timekeeping: Monitor employee attendance and assist with tracking hours for accurate payroll processing.
Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that staffing levels comply with facility policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including labor laws.
Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all departments, staff, and external vendors to ensure smooth operations.
Reporting: Prepare and maintain staffing reports, track key performance indicators, and address staffing concerns as necessary.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in human resources or healthcare preferred.
Proven experience in staffing coordination, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Covr, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including staffing requirements for skilled nursing facilities.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare setting.
Experience with employee scheduling systems and payroll processing.
