The Retail Excess Casualty division of Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for a National Account Excess Casualty Underwriter to join our East Coast Team.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Grow, manage, and maintain a profitable, diversified book of excess casualty business for the National Account Excess Casualty Division
Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business within delegated authority levels while adhering to underwriting rules and guidelines
Develop and maintain relationships with brokers to facilitate a flow of desirable new business and to maintain renewal business via quality service
Collaborate with other related segments along with regional colleagues and internal/external business associates.
Analyze new business for risk profitability as determined by a review of underwriting, claims and financial data.
Underwrite renewal business according to current underwriting approach and philosophy in a service oriented environment, ensuring high renewal retention.
Collaborate with corporate underwriting, claims, actuary, operations, and marketing to achieve collective team goals.
Obtain, assess and communicate competitive factors in the marketplace
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or above and/or insurance certifications
A minimum of 3 years of experience in underwriting casualty business
Demonstrated ability to generate profitable new business
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
Strong relationship management skills
Excellent analytical, communication, and computer skills
Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks concurrently within a fast-paced, team-oriented, working environment
Customer-oriented approach

For NY Only: The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $175,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
