Position: Project Manager
Reports to: President/Vice President
General Qualities:
- Strong written and oral communication skills to coordinate the activities
- Proactive self-starter capable of setting a positive example for the employees
- Manages a major complex project and/or several routines/fewer complex projects
Technical Responsibilities:
- Work closely with PennDOT/PTC/government agencies to gain required project approvals
- Coordinate with agencies, consultants, and clients for various project management tasks
- Expected to work will in team environments and oversee or assist in the oversight of the project team including all inspectors, designers, engineers, contractors, vendors, and consultants
- Exhibit real time understanding of project status (all facets) and be able to develop, distribute and discuss projects updates as required
- Prepare, negotiate, and enforce contractual agreements, address, and resolve construction issues
- Develops and adheres to the budget, timeline, and quality control plan
- Maintain and manage project documentation.
- Write proposals for PennDOT and PTC contracts and other agencies as needed.
- Perform constructability reviews, pricing, and cost impacts due to phasing and timing
- Negotiate contracts with clients and internal approvers
- Manage CPM schedules and project timelines.
- Handle invoicing for KSE staff and project-related expenses.
- Uses scheduling software to update schedules, track progress, and document project progression.
- Be on call 24/7 for project emergencies and incidents.
Requirements:Experience and Educational Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management or equivalent
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania. A NICET IV may be considered in place of the PE with additional experience
- 10+ years in transportation projects with PennDOT or PTC, including experience as Resident Engineer and Project Manager
- Experience with PennDOT and PTC and other government agencies desired
- OSHA 30-hour certification required.
- Possesses familiarity with Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Bluebeam, and Project scheduling software. AutoCAD is plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb, walk, and perform outdoor/indoor work.
- Must be able to drive and lift up to 25 pounds.
