Job Summary
The Electrification + Energy Solutions Division - ePowertrain Solutions team is looking for a Battery + Charging Integration and Application Engineering Specialist to provide focused accountability for defining applications, driving collaboration around component development, and coordinating solution integration.
This role will work with our ePowertrain Technical Leads and Machine Business Division partners to document application requirements and with our battery and charging solution teams to select or develop solutions that integrate across multiple product lines.
They will work with these development partners to lead battery pack sizing, charger selection, and performance prediction. They will also work to define application interfaces and support NPI issue resolution. They will support product development activities throughout the NTI and NPI program phases, from concept selection through system validation and production readiness.
What you will do:
Compile and cascade application requirements to component development teams
Develop and maintain analytical tools for battery sizing and charger selection
Advise on battery and charger selection and integration, looking for component re-use opportunities
Follow and support battery and charger development activities including validation planning, issue resolution and delivery timing
Understand and communicate battery and charger development status
Support the creation of integration documents; including integration guides, power solution spec sheets, troubleshooting guides, A&I manuals, and OMMs
Develop standard work (processes and tools) for power source and charging solution integration

What you have:
Degree requirement: BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
Technical Engineering: Knowledge of high voltage electrical system integration or validation Level Extensive Experience:
• Experience in battery system design or integration, electric machine design or systems integration
• Provides effective solutions for battery electric applications through strong technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues • Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to compile, analyze and record functional and business requirements to ensure the success of machine electrification projects. • Advises others on the key benefits, drawbacks and rationale for engineering standards, policies and practices.
• Assumes accountability for personal technical performance and holds others responsible for theirs.
Product Design: Knowledge of HV battery and charging systems and electric powertrain component design and integration Level Extensive Experience: • Monitors the processes and procedures of a complex product design to ensure functional requirements are met. • Evaluates feedback from customers and consults on functional weaknesses.
Information Capture: Knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner. Level Extensive Experience: • Ensures that all exceptions and unusual circumstances are properly captured and reviewed. • Helps others understand how the recording of information impacts other business units. • Provides guidance in documenting pertinent information.

Summary Pay Range: $123,480.00 - $185,280.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
