Purpose/Introduction
Chevron Phillips is seeking a Rotating Equipment Reliability Lead to join our team at our chemical plant in Port Arthur, Texas. The Rotating Equipment Reliability Lead will have expertise with steam and gas turbines, centrifugal, screw, and reciprocating compressors, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, and mixers, plus related items such as mechanical seals, couplings, gears, bearings and machinery lubrication systems. The Rotating Equipment Reliability Lead shall possess diversified technical skills in mechanical design, vibration analysis, reliability centered maintenance techniques, failure analysis, and control / protection of rotating machinery. Will supervise the Rotating Equipment Technicians and Rotating Equipment Engineers. #HPCP
Responsibilities
Responsible for reliability effects that involve evaluation of history, field observations, design engineering changes, preventative maintenance procedures changes, and expected versus actual life
Assist in developing and monitoring annual budget item related to rotating equipment
Responsible for providing inspection services at contractor shops to ensure quality of new and repaired rotating equipment
Ensure that the work process being performed on rotating equipment increases the reliability and mechanical integrity
Consult with maintenance, ops and engineering for reliability opportunity
Responsible for the effectiveness of analytical and instrumentation techniques for defecting and diagnosing mechanical problems on rotating equipment including vibration, infrared and oil analysis
Responsible for compliance findings related to rotating equipment
Provide interpretation of industry and company standards and specifications

Develop key performance indicators
Develop and implement company rotating equipment best practices
Provide advanced troubleshooting expertise as requested
Lead/mentor less experienced engineers
Lead/maintain the predictive maintenance programs for rotating machinery
Advise in the development of recommended spare parts purchases for new projects
Work with plant rotating equipment personnel to leverage knowledge and resources across the company including participation in the Reliability Accountability Network and Maintenance Best Practice Teams

Participate in industry associations to stay current in emerging trends and technologies
Participate in planned unit turnarounds
Lead the Worst Actor Program
Able to pull and trend equipment history in Meridium/APM
Communicates equipment issues/findings to operations and maintenance

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Must have at least 5 years of experience working with rotating equipment
Minimum of 10 years Chemical/Refinery experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to serve a broad range of company business leaders, project teams, and our contractors
Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory experience
Knowledge of industry codes & standards
Significant experiences in root cause failure analysis, lubrication analysis and FMEAs
ISO Level III or equivalent certification in vibration analysis
Proficiency in MS Office, Meridium, and SAP
Experience formulating coded repair procedures
Demonstrated history of utilizing Reliability Centered Maintenance tools to optimize asset performance/lifecycle
