Division of Continuing Studies - Event and Campus Manager (Frederick location) Job Description:
Job General Description: Responsible to the Associate Provost for the Division of Continuing Studies, the Division of Continuing Studies Event and Campus Manager oversees event planning and coordination, manages the Frederick campus building operations in the daytime and evenings to ensure effective business operations and safety of undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and business partners that frequent the Mount St. Marys Frederick Campus, a 28,000 square foot leased facility located at 5350 Spectrum Drive. In addition, this position will coordinate, manage and invoice for internal and external events at the Frederick campus, as well as support Frederick Admissions needs for event planning. The work schedule for this position includes daytime and evening hours as necessary to meet the needs of adult learners and events. The typical schedule for this position will vary based on scheduling of events and classes, but most of the time the schedule will be Monday-Thursday from 12 pm to 10 pm. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Engage with the community to recruit new event clients. Coordinate and execute all internal and external events that take place at the Frederick campus. Ensure coverage for events outside of normal business hours. Manage guidelines for acceptable use of the facility. Communication and invoicing for internal and external events. Coordinate catering, set-up and tear down for conferences and events. Support event planning and execution for the Graduate and Adult Undergraduate Admissions Office housed on the Frederick campus. Oversee building safety related to both normal operations and conferences and events, including security checks, badging and access for all attendees. Manage security equipment and software (cameras, alarm, card access, etc.). Interact with and support students entering and exiting the campus to attend classes in the evening. Provide technical classroom support for faculty/instructors teaching in the classrooms and event staff utilizing classroom equipment (computers, monitors, displays). Work as a team player to engage current and new students as well as business partners. Manage logistics, safety and security of the Frederick Campus during both the daytime and evening, including securing and closing the building each evening during the work week. Manage and coordinate building maintenance needs for the Frederick campus with main campus physical plant operations/logistics and outside contractors, as needed. Support the purchasing needs of faculty teaching at the Frederick Campus. Assist other team members where applicable, including covering areas or duties not initially assigned. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact with a variety of internal and external constituents. Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and to learn other software systems. Salary Range:
This role will begin as a 36-hour-per-week position with duties effective upon hire and a salary of $44,765 annually. Beginning July 1, 2025, the position is expected to transition to a 40-hour workweek with an annual salary of $50,000 to accommodate expanded responsibilities, including additional event planning and outreach activities.
