Reporting to Operations leadership, the Manufacturing Engineer will assist with costing & preparation of quotes while being a technical interface for our customers. They will also create Bills of Materials (BOM), routings for new products and assist with process and design improvements to improve overall operations. Programming is also a component of the role. The Manufacturing engineer is a key and valued member of our engineering team. This hire must possess a customer first attitude, keen understanding of job quoting and be a reliable and knowledgeable resource for technical assistance across all layers of the organization.
DESCRIPTION:
Interprets customer specifications/blueprints associated with new and existing applications and interfaces with customers on technical questions and other relative items.
Researches and gathers costs for off the shelf items and assembly times, gathers raw materials costs from outside vendors.
Ensure proper documentation for projects to include qualifications sheets, drawings, design/engineering notes, budget/cost tracking sheet, etc.
Review complex quotes with senior management, as necessary.
Organizes and creates documentation necessary for new applications, including BOM, job instructions and job routers.
Create and edit or enhance solid works drawings for various products.
Create programs for punch press/laser-punch press combination machines. Approximately 25% of workload will be dedicated to programming.
Active participant in the new product introduction review process to ensure manufacturing and quality process utilized meet customer expectations.
Creates process and design improvements based on knowledge of the industry and manufacturing processes.
Support manufacturing operations on the floor to ensure compliance to customer prints.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar engineering discipline required.
1-5 years project engineering experience in a manufacturing setting with exposure to quoting, job costing & programming. Sheet metal fabrication experience is highly desirable.
Technical skills to include SolidWorks, Amada 4i

Excellent communication skills, with a customer centric attitude and demeanor.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Hands on approach and eagerness to assist/support shop floor & teammates when needed.
