The Director, Sales Strategy Foodservice will drive sector-specific growth by developing and implementing strategies tailored to regional distributors and national accounts, ensuring alignment with category goals.
This role provides flexibility to work in a hybrid environment of home and our Westlake Village, CA office. (Hybrid is defined as 3 times per week in the office).
Responsibilities
Develop and oversee execution of sector-specific sales strategy
Build customer segmentation and partner with Sales to prioritize and develop penetration strategy
Lead development and execution of sector-focused marketing for sector sales teams
Lead and develop customer-specific strategy, development and execution
Develop sector value propositions and selling stories, taking into account Dole product portfolio, pricing strategy, competitive intelligence, marketplace intelligence and account dynamics
Translate product and solution selling stories into sector-relevant messages and create effective selling materials for designated sectors
Develop and oversee the customization of marketing materials for large accounts, presentations, and sector efforts and sales work
Monitor, with Finance RGM trade spend analysis support, trade spending activity and gain in-depth understanding trade spend ROI. Use this information to inform Sales team with goal of making better choices over time.
Provide leadership in identifying Sales targets by team and product as well as assisting with the quantification of investment requirements and ROIs on investments of Dole resources to pursue opportunities
Support the internal NPD process for sector-relevant product requests as necessary
Develop pipeline of continuous improvement opportunities to improve interactions between Dole category marketing, sector strategy and sales teams
Be a thought-leader for leading and managing the sector business, including pro-actively planning for shifts in how the industry buys/goes to market and how Dole responds to these changes/trends/dynamics
Develop and lead the work to support the Annual Planning Process to ensure it is timely and comprehensive in order to maximize internal and external customer needs
Support the sector Sales organization with day-to-day issues/ops resolution activity (product and other)

Qualifications
Experience, Knowledge, & Skills You Bring:
8-10+ years experience driving sales/strategy in a FOODSERVICE FMCG environment
Strong leadership skills – experience leading a team of direct reports
Clear communication and strong presentation skills – both oral and written. Storyteller that can interpret data into insights
Highly developed skillset within Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong financial acumen, including in-depth financial analysis and result impact to business
Expert-level analytical ability using proprietary and syndicated data sources

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit and use the computer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones and use a variety of office equipment; ability to lift 15 pounds and reach overhead.
Travel Requirements:
Up to 10-20% travel as needed

FOR JOBS BASED IN CALIFORNIA:
Hiring Pay Scale: $175,000 to $195,000
