Assistant Network Engineer

Assist with design (IPv4 and IPv6), troubleshooting and management functions for the University Network. Responsibilities assigned will include providing problem determination for applications which run over the local University network and Internet. Providing support for recommended configuration, troubleshooting for the Voice over IP infrastructure, E-911, wireless, firewalls, VPNs, routers, switches, DWDM and Ethernet technologies.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering or related discipline, and at least two years experience in design, troubleshooting, or management of medium- or large-sized enterprise TCP/IP networks required. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network problems. Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team required. Desirable Qualifications: Degree preferred in a related discipline. Experience with network performance monitoring, and debugging tools, 802.1x, Radius and/or SAML/SSO authentication, wireless, network intrusion detection, IPv6, IP video, VoIP, EIGRP, BGP and network and server virtualization are highly desirable.
$80,000 - $110,000
A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), This position is eligible for full-time telework in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
