Job Description
The Banquet Manager reports directly to the Food and Beverage Manager and takes full responsibility of all aspects of the banquet operations at The Blackwell Inn and Pfahl Conference Center including convention services bartending and audio-visual. Responsibilities include but are not limited to smooth daily banquet operations by managing on the floor, scheduling and payroll maintenance of quality standards, hiring, training, and performance management and ensuring billing information and banquet checks are correctly posted each day. Displays knowledge of food preparation and service and basic bar terminology and wine service. Works closely with the catering and culinary team to exceed guests' expectations throughout their experience. Possesses positive leadership characteristics, organizational capability, creativity flexibility, and the commitment required to successfully manage the banquet operations of the hotel and conference center. Runs the operation profitably ensuring full implementation of standards of service cleanliness and condition, safety, sustainability, and the highest levels of guest satisfaction. Closely monitors labor costs to ensure they are aligned with the forecast, assists with inventory of banquet items and ensures proper set up of banquet rooms for functions. Handles all guest complaints expeditiously to complete resolution. Participates in activities designed to enhance the image and profitability of the banquet department of the hotel. Flexible work hours to meet the demands of the operation. Must be open to working all shifts-evenings mornings weekends and holidays. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree may be desirable. 5 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Requirements: Hospitality Management degree or equivalent education and/or experience. 3+ years experience in a comparable position in a similar hotel and conference environment. Working Knowledge in Microsoft Office products.

Additional Information:The pay range for this position is $64,300 - $84,550 (min - mid). The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's education and experience.
