Job Summary This is a position that oversees, operates and maintains a complex industrial wastewater pretreatment system that contains a variety of wastewater treatment processes and auxiliary equipment for the processing and handling of industrial wastewater and generated industrial byproducts.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor all wastewater pretreatment plant equipment and make necessary adjustments based on findings.
Take periodic samples and perform and record the results of various tests to assess and monitor the condition of the system and determine optimal chemical and biological treatment.
Maintain the efficiency of plant operations, including maintenance of equipment pumps, filters, and machinery, testing, quality control and record keeping procedures.
Read and record meter and gauge readings.
Maintain plant records, including operations logs, daily diaries, computer data entry and chemical inventories.
Ensure timely reporting to facility management if an upset or exceedance occurs.
Performs ground maintenance and housekeeping duties as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Dependable, reliable; ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
Manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a waste treatment environment.
High school diploma or GED.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work
Chemical safety practices
General math skills
Practices and procedures used in the operation and maintenance of wastewater pretreatment systems
Sampling methods and the physical and chemical tests used in treatment plant control
Process quality control requirements and remedial measures in dealing with process malfunctions and emergencies
Ability to attend work consistently.
Must be able to withstand long periods in cold, warm, or wet/damp environments.
Maintain a clean work area.
Be adaptable and dependable and the ability to follow direction and work in cooperation with others.
Ability to perform consistent, accurate work with minimal direction and successfully as part of a team.

Occasionally lift and or move up to 70 pounds
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds utilizing the buddy system or specifically designed lifting devices

Summary
America's Heartland Packing is set to open its doors in early 2025. The 775,000 sq. ft. greenfield project will include a harvest floor, carcass chillers, fabrication area, rendering, further processing area, storage coolers, freezers, and loading docks.
