The Principal Applications Developer acts as a critical liaison between Business and IT partners, focusing on strategic planning and the development of solutions to meet current and future needs. The role requires expert-level experience and is responsible for all functions involved in the development and maintenance of new or existing applications.
Key Responsibilities: • Assess strategic plans and technology issues to develop a comprehensive roadmap for applications and systems. • Promote innovative thinking and improvements within Business and IT organizations. • Represent business client perspectives on system health and service quality, directing issues to the appropriate teams for resolution. • Coordinate and monitor initiatives across functional lines. • Track and report on IT portfolio metrics, schedules, resource allocation, budget, and critical path analysis. • Translate business needs into cost-effective and innovative solutions from ideation to production. • Write code, complete programming, documentation, and perform testing and debugging of applications. • Analyze, design, program, debug, and modify software enhancements and new products. • Interact with users to define system requirements and necessary modifications.
Qualifications: • Preferred Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, or Engineering; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience. • Typically requires 5-8 years of experience in defining requirements and enhancing business processes. • Expertise in telecom industry standards, business processes, and technology solutions for major business challenges.
Experience and Skills: • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business process requirements and enhancements. • Strong knowledge of relevant products and end-to-end business processes. • Experience collaborating with product managers, translating roadmaps into manageable product backlogs, and supporting release and sprint planning. • Ability to lead solution design, ensuring alignment with customer needs, production operability, and budget. • Experience in mentoring team members and maintaining documentation repositories.
Technical Skills: • Proficiency in Java, Jira, Couchbase, Linux, business requirements, operations, maintenance, and requirement gathering.
Core Competencies: • Expertise in gathering and documenting business and technical requirements. • Provide high-level solutions leveraging product capabilities and best practices. • Lead reviews with customers, offering in-depth technical support. • Communicate solutions effectively with business and IT stakeholders. • Conduct demonstrations and mentor peers and users. • Write high-level design documents and estimate system requirements for customization.
This role is essential for bridging the gap between business and IT, ensuring that strategic plans and technology solutions align with organizational goals. Our Principal Application Developer, earns between $128,400.00-$215,800.00 USD Annual , Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
