Position: Principal Data Scientist
Job Location: 608 SW 8th St., Bentonville, AR 72716
Duties: Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs. Develops and communicates business plans and priorities. Removes barriers and obstacles that impact performance, provides resources. Identifies performance standards, measures progress, and adjusts performance accordingly, develops contingency plans, and demonstrates adaptability and supports continuous learning. Performs Code Development and Testing with coding languages like SQL, Java, C++, and Python. Tests methods such as static, dynamic, software composition analysis, manual penetration testing. Writes code to develop the required solution and application features by determining the appropriate programming language and leveraging business, technical, and data requirements. Creates test cases to review and validate the proposed solution design. Creates proofs of concept. Tests the code using the appropriate testing approach. Deploys software to production servers. Contributes code documentation, maintain playbooks, and provide timely progress updates. Conducts technical problem formulation by utilizing analytics/big data analytics / automation techniques and methods. Analyzes business problems within one's discipline and questions assumptions to help the business identify the root cause. Identifies and recommends an approach to resolve the business problem to create effective technology-focused solutions. Sets relevant deliverables based on the established success criteria and define key metrics to measure progress and effectiveness of the solution. Quantifies business impact. Conducts data source identification: functional business domain and scenarios. Conducts database technologies and distributed data stores (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), data quality, and existing business systems and processes, including the key drivers and measures of success. Understands the priority order of requirements and service level agreements. Defines and identifies the most suitable sources for required data that is fit for purpose, referring to external sources as required. Performs initial data quality checks on the extracted data. Reviews the deliverables of junior associates and provides guidance on data source and quality. Understands business value and relevance of data and data-enabled insights/decisions and makes appropriate application and understanding of data ecosystem including data management, data quality standards and data governance, accessibility, storage, and scalability. Understands the methods and applications that unlock the monetary value of data assets to understand, articulate, interpret, and apply the principles of the defined strategy to unique, moderately complex business problems that may span one or more functions or domains.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering (any), or related field and 3 years of experience in data analytics or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering (any), or related field and 5 years of experience in data analytics or related field.
Skills required: Must have experience with: Experience designing and executing A/B test and experimentations using SQL. Experience running statistical modeling and correlation tests using R, SAS, and Python. Experience analyzing data using Teradata, SQL, and R. Experience coding in the terminal command window using SQL and R/Python. Experience analyzing clickstream web data using Hive SQL, R, Alteryx, and PostgreSQL. Experience analyzing customer transactional data using SQL. Experience developing dashboards using Tableau. Experience creating Macros using Microsoft (MS) Excel. Experience creating Data Pipelines and ETL Pipelines using SQL. Experience executing statistical modeling using R, SAS, and Python. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
