Position Summary: The Network Engineer III is a senior-level professional responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of secure network infrastructures in support of U.S. federal operations. This role requires a candidate who not only possesses expert-level technical proficiencyparticularly with Aruba networking technologiesbut can also operate effectively within classified environments. The Network Engineer III leads complex projects, provides strategic guidance, ensures compliance with federal security standards, and mentors junior engineers. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including federal stakeholders, to deliver robust, scalable, and secure network solutions that support mission-critical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design and Implementation:
Analyze federal client requirements to develop comprehensive, compliant network architectures with a focus on Aruba solutions.
Design and implement integrated, highly secure networking solutions that align with DoD standards.
Configure, test, and optimize Aruba-based campus and remote solutions to ensure peak performance, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
Customer Consultation:
Serve as a trusted technical advisor for federal agencies, understanding mission objectives and proposing Aruba-centric solutions.
Present technical solutions to federal clients and internal teams, articulating how each solution meets mission, security, and policy requirements.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
Provide advanced-level technical support, leveraging Aruba tools and frameworks to diagnose and resolve complex network issues in classified environments.
Engage in root cause analysis, performance tuning, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain mission-critical uptime and reliability.
Systems Maintenance & Compliance:
Oversee regular updates, patches, and firmware enhancements for Aruba and multi-vendor network devices.
Ensure all network components adhere to DoD security guidelines, STIGs, and industry best practices.
Proactively address vulnerabilities and remain vigilant in maintaining security postures that meet or exceed federal standards.
Training & Mentorship:
Train federal clients and junior engineering staff on Aruba network tools, configurations, and best practices.
Mentor junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and readiness for classified operational environments.
Continuous Learning & Industry Awareness:
Stay current with emerging technologies, DoD policy changes, and Arubas evolving product lines.
Incorporate cutting-edge solutions and strategic initiatives to enhance the organizations network capabilities.
Documentation & Knowledge Management:
Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, as-built documentation, and run books.
Develop and review standard operating procedures (SOPs) for managing and securing Aruba-based networks in classified domains.
