Reporting to the Associate Director, North America Transportation, the Transportation Operations Analyst supports the inbound and outbound transportation operations associated with Becton Dickinson manufacturing, sterilization, suppliers and warehouse operations. This position is essential to transportation operations and works with business operations to identify, recommend and implement CI opportunities in our NA transportation network to achieve cost savings targets and improve overall customer experience.
Responsibilities:
Deploys and prioritizes transportation projects which drive value within the integrated supply chain. This includes initiatives which enhance business operations, reduce cost to serve, and improve overall customer experience.
Supports the management of third-party carrier base relationships to ensure the North America region's transportation needs are met in a service focused and cost-effective manner.
Responsible for developing and maintaining key performance indicators, metrics and dashboards to monitor and drive transportation operations performance.
Supporting the development of the North America Transportation strategy for inbound and outbound operating execution meeting the needs of internal and external customers.
Scope of Responsibility
Partnering with the Associate Director of North America Transportation develops and evolves the NA Transportation Strategy for operating execution for the North America region
This strategy includes legacy BD, Carefusion, and CR Bard sites and processes into a common NA Transportation regional approach.
Aligns and enables resources, processes and systems to achieve desired functional or business results.
Sphere of Influence
Ensures efficient management and execution of transportation operations. Examples include: Supporting Supply Chain Relations by establishing business controls and processes to support customer specific requirements. i.e., Wal-Mart OTIF.
Supports BD Manufacturing, Sterilization Operations and third-party sources of supply in ensuring product flow throughout the North American network
Drives cross-functional strategic initiatives to improve transportation operations efficiency and overall cost to serve.
Acts as point of escalation for addressing performance issues with transportation services with our internal and external customers. Helps identify root cause and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications:
BS in Supply Chain, Industrial Management, Engineering, or Business (or equivalent).
Minimum of 5 years of supply chain experience.
Diverse Integrated Supply Chain experience, Transportation management, Distribution Management understanding.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities; setting of clear targets, objectives and project milestones. Third party management though defined KPI's and metrics. Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills. Strong analytical mindset and capability, facilitation and change management. Excellent planning, organization, analysis and problem-solving skills. Influences and motivates. Understanding of the SAP, BI, JDA TMS and other data sources to meet the metrics, KPI, dashboard, and reporting needs of North America Transportation Operations.
Green Belt certification is preferred
Project Management certification is preferred
Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI preferred
Ability to travel up to 10%
