Caterpillar IT Chief of Staff

Role Definition:

The Caterpillar IT Chief-of-Staff is a senior-level manager who works closely with Caterpillar's CIO/SVP and senior leadership team. Role is responsible for managing IT governance processes, ensure priorities are aligned, and facilitate efficient decision making. This role will also be responsible for the Caterpillar IT Customer Experience (CX) and Strategic IT Branding functions, including thought-leadership on how these functions can support various services within the division.



Responsibilities:

  • Provides high-level support to the Caterpillar IT CIO/SVP, Strategy Director and Caterpillar IT leadership team for ensuring initiatives, actions, and priorities are delivered
  • Help facilitate strategic planning and execution on behalf of the Caterpillar CIO/SVP and Strategy Director, governing the leaders' vision and priorities.
  • Plan and orchestrate key governance forums within Enterprise IT community as well as between IT and business partners, including developing agendas and overseeing follow through on key decisions
  • Serve as a communication liaison on behalf of the Caterpillar CIO/SVP and the leadership team, with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide key decision support including analyzing information, preparing reports, and offering recommendations
  • Facilitate the execution of the Caterpillar IT strategy and operational processes for Enterprise IT
  • Coaching and preparing teams for program level reporting to Senior IT Leadership and key business partners
  • Ensuring alignment across Caterpillar IT departments and teams and helping to resolve conflicts and bottlenecks
  • Leading or overseeing critical projects that require senior level attention
  • Oversees operational activities in collaboration with the Strategy Director, perform administrative tasks, such as facilitating SVP staff meetings, synthesizing notes, generating correspondence, and meeting planning and execution.
  • Concepts, drafts, and develops presentation content, visualizations, talking points, agendas, and written communications.
  • Oversee large and diverse program including but not limited to establishing program governance, planning, coordination, monitoring, management and stakeholder engagement
  • Provide thought-leadership for the Caterpillar IT Customer Experience (CX) and Strategic IT Branding functions, specifically leveraging the Chief of Staff position to integrate the capabilities with key IT groups and business partner engagements
Degree Requirement:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

Summary Pay Range:
$165,960.00 - $248,880.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
