Job Summary:
Performs comprehensive audiologic assessments, including ototoxic monitoring. Recognizes and implements strategies for non-organic hearing loss and appropriate referrals for additional non-behavioral assessment if needed. Cerumen management commiserate with experience and knowledge. Evaluates, selects, fits/dispenses hearing assistive technology, including hearing aids, assistive listening devices and accessories. Hearing aid services to include hearing aid evaluation, hearing aid fitting/dispensing, follow up and ongoing care. Makes recommendations and offer a variety of styles, technologies and manufacturers as well as appropriate accessories and assistive listening devices. Provides coverage for the walk-in clinic. Adheres to appropriate billing practices. Recognizes need and makes appropriate referrals for complex audiological cases for management (eg. implantable, advances assistive listening devices, work accommodations, tinnitus management, vestibular assessments, otologic, etc). Maintains appropriate documentation in medical record. Participates in department activities including teaching, program development, monthly meetings and student supervision. Involvement in other committees or groups within the organization or in the community. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
One year of experience required. One year of experience as a student may be considered.
One year experience in an Audiology clinical setting performing specialized assessments
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Master's Degree in Audiology.
Doctorate Degree in Audiology (Aud-D), preferred.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
Valid State of Wisconsin Audiologist license or temporary license is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within three months of hire.
