POSITION SUMMARY:

Director of Accreditation for the College of Education is a full-time, 12 -month position responsible for matters related to the college's accreditation of all academic programs. The Director works collaboratively with faculty, staff, administration, and students in the College of Education to develop, implement, and monitor continuous improvement efforts to ensure that academic programs are meeting learning outcomes and standards promulgated by academic departments, the college, the university, the Florida Department of Education, and appropriate accrediting and reporting agencies (e.g., CAEP, CACREP, APA, SACSCOC, USNWR, etc.). To meet the responsibilities of this position, the Director must be detail-oriented and have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; proficiency in quantitative and qualitative methods of program evaluation, assessment, and data analysis; working knowledge of quality assurance systems/processes and common technological tools; and strong leadership skills, and an in-depth knowledge of historic and current trends in teacher preparation. The Director is a primary point of contact for accreditation efforts in the College.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working as appropriate with department chairs, faculty, staff, administration, and students, the Director of Accreditation has the following specific responsibilities:


  • Lead accreditation efforts for all programs in the College of Education alongside college and department committees.
  • Represent the College of Education on university accreditation committees.
  • Review and disseminate data reports and presentations for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee accreditation processes for CAEP, state program review, and other accreditors (e.g., CACREP, APA).
  • Monitor data to inform decisions at program, department, and unit levels.
  • Consult with program coordinators to ensure alignment with college and university accreditation expectations.
  • Collect data for program and college accreditation with program coordinators.
  • Develop or improve systems to gather data from recent graduates, alumni, and employers.
  • Support college accreditation committees for continuous improvement.
  • Regularly meet with faculty to discuss program-level accreditation data.
  • Develop and submit national accreditation and state program review reports; lead related activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM:

Requires a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of seven years related exempt experience, including five years of managerial experience. Experience leading a team, project, program or function.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:

4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.

6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.

PREFERRED:

Doctoral degree in teacher education, educational research, or related field and experience with Florida Accreditation Standards and Requirements. Experience in Education Accreditation and/or Education Program Approval.
