  • Perform cost analysis and maintain accurate cost records for materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Prepare and update standard costs of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, monitor spending variances, and provide reports to management on production cost performance.
  • Conduct inventory valuation and reconciliation; assist in periodic physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Reconcile all inventory accounts and maintain supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy in raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory.
  • Develop and analyze cost standards, reviewing product cost structures, and proposing improvements to reduce costs.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries related to cost, including adjustments for variances, accruals, and reclassifications.
  • Support the monthly close process by reviewing and reconciling cost accounts.
  • Generate reports on cost of goods sold (COGS), gross margin analysis, and profitability by product or department.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs, monitoring actual vs. budgeted expenses.
  • Prepare and analyze capital expenditure reports, tracking spending and asset depreciation.
  • Participate in audits by preparing cost-related schedules, supporting documentation, and reports as required.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and participate in special projects to improve cost efficiency and internal controls.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in cost accounting within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and experience in general ledger reconciliations.
  • Highly analytical with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and communicate effectively.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
