The Sr Application Analyst performs 2nd level troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of existing software applications. Job responsibilities include implementing and maintaining Harbor Freight's build/release and installation/patch infrastructure, as well as the end-to-end planning and delivery of application releases. The Analyst must achieve in-depth knowledge of the software application and operational workflows, as well as understand the policies, procedures and constraints of the business operation supported by the application. The Application Analyst 2 must collaborate closely with all application stakeholders to ensure the health of their assigned applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with Application Leads, internal customers and outside vendors to align projects to application releases and participate in aligning cross application schedules as needed per the Integrated Release Calendar
Responsible for the technical configuration and setup of an assigned application/s
Active monitoring of Production and QA environments, recommending/suggesting best practices for managing exceptions, log levels, etc
Support the administration of server environments
Support various phases of application development, testing and deployment activities
Collaborate with team members to identify and mitigate risks
Consult with team members to make software configuration and hardware configuration recommendations
Support dry-run activities and go-live execution to ensure code integrity
Own the Release Governance process
Develop Release Deployment Plan to include schedules and back-out plans
Facilitate Release level Pre-Deployment, Deployment and Post-Deployment meetings
Identify and facilitate the resolution of release-level issues
Actively work to improve production environments, troubleshooting and implementing monitoring/debug tools which will proactively help identify and resolve future issues in production
Production support including periodic after hours and weekend support responsibilities

Job Qualifications - Education and Experience
3-4 years of IT experience
Self-motivated and directed
Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques
Ability to independently research and find solutions for complex issues
Knowledge of trends in technology
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Weekends as required
Preferred Qualifications
BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or a related field preferred
Extensive knowledge of deployment software (Big Fix/Tivoli/IBM Endpoint Manager preferred)
General knowledge of monitoring software (Open NMS and App Dynamics preferred)
Knowledge of trends in technology relating to POS software and hardware
Experience in supporting all phases of SDLC
