Lead the daily operations of the Inventory Control department by directing teams of employees to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations in the Inventory Control department.
Ensure compliance with safety rules, production goals, and sanitation standards.
Manage the Cycle Count Program.
Create and re-profile pick locations for new items.
Generate and analyze inventory reports, including PICK HITS, LOST IN CYCLE COUNT, EXPIRATION MANAGEMENT, and ADJUSTMENTS.
Process transfer orders (TOs), return-to-vendor (RTV) requests, and dispositions (e.g., dump and destroy).
Troubleshoot and resolve inventory issues to identify root causes.
Conduct purchase order (PO) discrepancy and analytical research.
Operate forklifts as needed.
Perform quality assurance (QA) tasks, including spot-checking code dates.
Document and report employee errors, including completing incident reports.
Maintain inventory integrity and accuracy.
Assist the Control Center with relevant duties.
Assign duties, manage schedules, and perform periodic evaluations of employees in accordance with HR policies.
Provide support to other warehouse supervisors and associates regarding policies, procedures, and job duties.
Address and resolve customer concerns/complaints and manage discrepancy reports to maintain client satisfaction.
Promote a positive work environment and foster team collaboration.
Work closely with staff to ensure quality and productivity requirements are met and communicated effectively.
Be flexible and available to work any shift to meet business needs.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to implementing and supervising inventory-based programs.
High level of computer literacy and proficiency with WMS systems.
Experience in warehouse supervision; some college-level training is preferred but not required.
Experience in the wholesale industry is a plus.
Education and Experience
Some college-level management education preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising warehouse operations, preferably in the wholesale industry.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel.
Strong knowledge of WMS systems.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to interact with all levels of management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and guide a diverse workforce.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
Must be able to climb stairs as required.
Work Environment
Work in a distribution center environment with varying temperatures.
