The Mixing Center Supervisor oversees daily operations of the Mixing Center, ensuring efficient planning and execution of inbound and outbound shipments. This role supervises warehouse associates, monitors workflow, and maintains compliance with FSMA regulations and company policies. The Supervisor is responsible for coordinating schedules, resolving issues, and ensuring operations meet performance and service expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and direct warehouse associates in daily Mixing Center operations, including receiving, organizing, and shipping perishable food (grocery) products.
Monitor and assign inbound loads to appropriate dock doors, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Train, coach, and ensure employees follow all Supply Chain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
Oversee the planning and scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments to maximize load utilization and meet Supply Chain requirements.
Track and report on shipment progress, carrier performance, and key operational metrics (KPIs).
Identify and resolve operational issues quickly, exercising sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
Conduct staff evaluations, address performance concerns, and provide ongoing training and development.
Lead daily operations meetings to communicate priorities, manage exceptions, and plan for holidays or peak periods.
Ensure service levels are maintained and continually look for ways to improve operational efficiency.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team of employees.
Experience in coaching, counseling, and resolving conflicts among team members.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; bilingual proficiency is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and warehouse management systems.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to optimize warehouse operations.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, holidays, and off-hours as needed.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
Experience with grocery or perishable food handling preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in warehouse operations.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to access and traverse all areas of a warehouse environment.
Must be comfortable working in a distribution center with varying temperatures.
