Independently manage all HR functions for the U.S. unit, providing comprehensive support across HR operations to ensure smooth processes and a positive employee experience. This position will report directly to the HR Director in Portugal and act as the main point of contact for all HR-related matters in the U.S.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary HR representative for the U.S. unit, handling all inquiries and providing guidance to employees and managers in alignment with company policies and U.S. regulations.
Administer and oversee payroll, benefits, and leave management independently, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local laws.
Manage the full recruitment process for the U.S. team, including job postings, candidate screenings, interviews, and onboarding.
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with U.S. labor laws and alignment with the company's global standards.
Conduct new hire orientation and manage the onboarding process, facilitating a smooth integration into the organization.
Maintain and update the HRIS with employee data, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and easy reporting for the head office in Portugal.
Oversee performance management processes, supporting employees and managers with goal setting and reviews.
Address employee relations concerns, resolving issues independently while fostering a positive work culture.
Identify and coordinate training and development opportunities to support skill growth and career progression.
Lead HR projects in the U.S., including DEI initiatives, employee engagement, and retention strategies, aligned with global objectives.
Generate HR reports and metrics to inform the HR Director in Portugal about key trends and improvement areas.
Conduct exit interviews and manage the offboarding process, collecting feedback to improve the employee experience.

Technical Skills: • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in an HR generalist role, ideally in an international or remote setting. • In-depth knowledge of U.S. labor laws and HR compliance requirements. • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
