WorkSmart Systems, a Professional Employer Organization, is hiring a Benefit Specialist in Indianapolis.
OPPORTUNITY:
As a Benefit Specialist within our energetic team of Specialists, you will play a pivotal role in educating and assisting our clients' employees with their health benefit options. As a customer-focused professional with excellent communication skills, we will train you in the details of our benefit plans (medical, dental, visions, HSA, Flex, & disability). You will educate employees about the plans and pricing options available. In this dynamic role, you will leverage your professional presentation skills and understanding of insurance plans to deliver exceptional customer service. Our unique "client-based" model offers the chance to deepen your expertise beyond a traditional benefits department, exposing you to a diverse range of small and medium-sized businesses.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Serve as a benefits educator and assist employees with plan understanding and enrollment. • Exceptional presentation skills for both large groups and one-on-one settings, paired with proactive problem-solving and independent thinking. • Respond to benefits inquiries from clients and employees on plan provisions, enrollments, status changes and general inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings. • Manage accurate benefits enrollment in HRIS, perform quality checks, process life status changes, and conduct monthly audits to ensure compliance and precision. • Lead open enrollment processes, including HRIS setup, benefit material development, and on-site education sessions. • Travel primarily around Indianapolis (as needed) to educate new client groups on various benefit plans and assist with enrollment.
SUCCESS FACTORS: • 3+ years of experience in customer service or similar service-related roles. • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with employees and clients at all levels. • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and skilled in time management. • Eager to learn how to educate and help employees with benefit options and tailored solutions. • Technically adept with a focus on leveraging innovative solutions to enhance processes improvement. • Able to work in the office, 8-5, M-F with occasional on-site client meetings.
