In this role, you will oversee all aspects of the materials function, leading key areas such as Production Control, Shipping, Receiving, Warehouse Management, and Inventory Control. Your primary goal will be to create and sustain an efficient, cost-effective system that supports production and sales targets while minimizing freight costs and inventory days on hand. Key objectives include: (1) ensuring timely delivery of customer orders, (2) optimizing resources such as personnel, equipment, freight, and inventory, (3) securing materials on schedule, and (4) proactively identifying and resolving issues through short-term fixes and long-term corrective actions.
This position includes managerial and operational oversight of materials management for the Sparta plant, including purchasing, production planning, logistics, and material handling. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely procurement, receipt, storage, and shipment of materials and finished goods, as well as ensuring timely production to meet customer demands.
As part of the plant management team, you will contribute to the plant's operational and business strategies, demonstrating leadership and providing input. While you may delegate aspects of the Environmental Management System, you are ultimately accountable for ensuring compliance within your area of responsibility.
What you'll do:
Lead a team of 5+ direct reports and 12+ indirect reports
Responsible for all planning and scheduling processes to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw, WIP, and packaging materials with a value of $50M+, including the procurement of raw materials and on-time deliveries
Responsible for forecasting processes and results relating to machine capacity utilization, inventory, as well as product and COM volume development
Continuously optimize the above-mentioned processes
Establish, maintain, and utilize meaningful KPIs for Materials Management.
Align and work with local, regional, and global Supply Chain and Materials Management departments on strategy, harmonized processes and KPIs
Responsible for maintaining a meaningful reporting to all employees, plant management team, plant manager and corporate
Maintain and constantly optimize the document control process and database
Work together with and give input to other members of the plant management team for continuous development of the plant as a whole and work on strategic projects

What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree and 10 years of materials management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
The majority of experience must be within a manufacturing environment
APICs certification preferred
Strong working knowledge of MRP, preferably SAP
At least 5 years of people management experience
Must be available and able to travel, up to but not limited to 5% of time
Must be able to work within the framework of 5S, ISO and IATF requirements
