Job Summary:

Hartree Partners is looking for a driven and enthusiastic Junior Operator to join our Houston office. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and growing trading organization, collaborating closely with the Crude Oil desk and providing support to other business areas as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance to the Operations teams in Houston and New York
  • Manage data and information related to trade flows
  • Assist operations with cost management, invoicing, and preparation of month-end and year-end operational reports
  • Liaise with external counterparts/vendors and collaborate with internal teams supporting trade flows
  • Progress towards independently supporting a business by gaining expertise in contracts, finance, operations, and risk management as part of a structured development plan
  • Enhance operational efficiency through proactive organization and strategic planning

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to convey information clearly and concisely
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Skilled in working with numerical data and performing analytical tasks
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, with a results-driven approach
  • Dedicated to upholding high standards of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Proficiency in additional languages or programming skills is not essential but considered an advantage
