Job summary
A winder is responsible for constructing a coil through the use of winding specifications and engineering drawings. Make brazed connections, fabricate crossovers, install cooling ducts and burn leads with an induction heater or oxygen/acetylene torch. Setup, wind, and dismantle of coil setups (mandrels, wire, dcecelers, etc.), removal, up ending and proper storage of coils upon completion. Record cylinders, wire and coil check sheets as required. Keep work area safe, neat and clean.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Ladders, scaffolding, cranes, forklifts, torches, induction brazers, hydraulic equipment, measuring devices, bandsaw, sanders, planers, coil upender, and various hand tools both powered and manual.
