LHH is seeking a new Product Design Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a client located near Fort Wayne, IN. If selected, you will join an organization which truly cares and places its employees first. In this role, you will design and develop new products. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $80-95,000 per year plus a very affordable medical insurance plan, Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match. This is HYBRID role allowing flexibility to work from home 2 days each week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Design Engineer will develop custom product proposals and design concepts based on customer requirements
This position will require you to work closely with customers and other design engineers to manage design projects and complete drawings based on customer review and approval
Assist plant management by internally managing and reviewing prototype completion as well as reviews with the customer
Work with customer to develop proposals and designs for customer review and approval
Coordinate with shop floor personnel to get prototypes developed and built
Train, mentor, and supervise the design group, providing guidance and support as it continues to grow.
Resolve both customer and manufacturing design issues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Build a solid foundation for our company's growth into the Aerospace and Defense sectors, ensuring compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and AS9100 requirements.
Correctly develop complete 3D models of product with proper manufacturing methods in mind
Experience Designing products using SolidWorks, Siemens NX, and/or Team Center
QUALIFICATIONS
Associates or Bachelor Degree in Engineering is highly preferred (with preference toward Mechanical Design)
A minimum of 4-5 years of product design experience using AutoCAD
Ability to read blueprints and use quality control tools
Efficiency required on CAD modeling software (SolidWorks)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, self-motivated, and strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills; written and verbal
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
