Job Description:
The Safety Health Environment & Security (SHE&S) Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all employees within the facility. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety programs, policies, and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and illnesses. The SHE&S Lead coordinates with management, supervisors, and employees to promote a culture of safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Promoting Safety Culture: Promote a strong safety culture by engaging with employees, supervisors, and management to raise awareness of safety issues and encourage active participation in safety initiatives. Work with management to organize safety committee and lead meetings to discuss concerns and suggestions for improvement.
Monitoring Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulation, as well as company policies and procedures. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and address non-compliance issues promptly.
Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Maintain accurate records of all incidents and ensure timely reporting to relevant authorities.
Safety Training: Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels. Topics may include hazard recognition, emergency response, equipment operation, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire drills, and medical emergency protocols. Ensure all employees are trained in emergency procedures and conduct regular drills to assess readiness.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety processes, equipment, and training programs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance workplace safety.
Education/Experience/Skills:
Associate's degree in Occupational Health and Safety
