*This is a new position for this 750M sized growing PE owned company headquartered in Florida but doing services in 13 states (and expanding). There is ~2,500 employees and 2,500 subcontractors. Company has 2,000 vehicles. Current Fleet Manager and small team is managing day to day. Company is seeking a Director of Fleet Management to lead the strategic direction and be more proactive rather than reactive as the company continues to grow. Job Description:
The Director of Fleet Operations will be responsible for supporting the strategic direction and day to day operations of company's fleet of vehicles, trailers, and equipment. The entire fleet should be maintained for maximum benefit to the organization in terms of safety, efficiency, and proper use by utilizing effective maintenance policies and procedures. They will work with the respective leaders of each function to ensure the needs of our internal customers in the field are being met in a timely and complete manner. By identifying best practices across the organization, the Director of Fleet Operations will drive process standardization as appropriate, and design reporting and metrics by which the teams can be measured and held accountable.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Develops schedules and procedures for and ensures adherence to routine maintenance and non-routine repair of all vehicles and equipment in the company's fleet.
Collaborates with managers and regional managers to reduce expenses such as those for fuel and maintenance.
Establishes a schedule for recommended replacement of fleet vehicles.
Drafts and presents reports on department operations and expenses.
Prepares and implements departmental budget.
Develops and enforces procedures, policies, and safety protocols for all fleet services staff.
Develop and mentor direct reports, and ensure goals are set for all functions. Subsequently, ensure those goals are being met.
Ensuring DOT requirements are met, and continued compliance is maintained, where applicable.
Performs other related duties as required.
