We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager specializing in mechanical construction for commercial building projects. This individual will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems in high-profile commercial developments. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing large-scale mechanical scopes, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Oversee all aspects of mechanical construction projects, from preconstruction to closeout.
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet client expectations and company goals.
Ensure mechanical systems align with project specifications, local codes, and quality standards.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor project teams, including engineers, foremen, and field staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain smooth project workflows.
Budget & Cost Control:
Monitor project financials, including change orders, billing, and cost tracking.
Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and address budget variances.
Client & Stakeholder Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Conduct regular meetings to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Risk Management & Problem Solving:
Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Resolve project challenges, such as delays, technical issues, or conflicts, efficiently and effectively.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all mechanical work adheres to OSHA regulations, building codes, and company safety policies.
Promote a safe working environment through regular site inspections and safety meetings.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 5-10 years of project management experience in mechanical construction, with a focus on commercial buildings (e.g., office buildings, hospitals, retail spaces).
Proven track record of managing mechanical scopes exceeding $10 million in value.
Technical Knowledge:
Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems, including design, installation, and commissioning.
Familiarity with building automation systems and energy-efficient solutions.
Skills:
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
Adept at negotiating contracts, managing subcontractors, and handling complex schedules.
Certifications:
PMP Certification preferred.
OSHA 30 Certification required; LEED Accreditation is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
