Altoona-Logan Township Mobile Medical Emergency Department Authority (AMED) is an Emergency Medical Service Authority located in Altoona, Pennsylvania. AMED provides primary EMS service to 21 municipalities across 430 square miles.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Director of EMS Education and Quality at AMED in Altoona, PA. The Director will be responsible for the design, implementation, instruction, and evaluation of training programs for all personnel. This position guarantees that all personnel are properly trained to deliver exceptional service in accord with current standards, medical protocols, and local, state, and federal regulations. The Director is tasked with developing and implementing community education programs. The Director will lead the quality assurance program to identify system deficiencies and develop education and training to close those gaps.

Experience in emergency medical services or healthcare education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, or related field (preferred)
Five years of experience in emergency medical services as a Paramedic or Registered Nurse
Two years of experience in EMS education with proven experience in designing and delivering EMS training programs, preferred
Must possess a Pennsylvania valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record.
Pennsylvania Certification as a Paramedic or Licensed Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse
Pennsylvania Certification as an EMT Instructor
Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Certificate
American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) Instructor Certificate
