Altoona-Logan Township Mobile Medical Emergency Department Authority (AMED) provides emergency medical services to 21 municipalities across 430 square miles in Blair, Bedford, Huntingdon, and Centre Counties.
Role Description
The Director of Emergency Medical Service Operations is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the day-to-day operations of the emergency medical services, ensuring that the team delivers optimal patient care in a timely and efficient manner. The role requires a blend of leadership, administrative, and clinical skills to coordinate EMS operations, manage personnel, and maintain compliance with health regulations and standards. The Director of EMS Operations is also tasked with budget management, quality improvement initiatives, and liaising with other healthcare providers and emergency response teams to enhance service delivery. In addition, the Director of EMS Operations functions as a paramedic or pre-hospital RN when necessary.

Experience in Emergency Medical Services or healthcare industry
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field (Preferred)
Seven years of experience in emergency medical services as a Paramedic or Registered Nurse
Two years of experience in EMS leadership with proven experience in managing and directing employees.
Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record.
Pennsylvania Certification as a Paramedic or Licensed Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse
American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
