This position is responsible for overseeing various tasks within the claims handling process.
Essential Functions • Manage self-administered non-injury liability claims to resolution • Research state laws to determine legal liability owed, if any • Investigate facts of the claim to determine fault • Assign and review appraisal of claim damages • Negotiate claim settlement amount with the claimant • Request payments for negotiated settlement • Evaluate claims for subrogation potential • Review tow/state property invoices and send to appropriate vendors to negotiate reasonable charges • Oversee the review and payment of subrogation claims from third party carriers • Oversee the handling of environmental/spill claims • Review state regulations and report spills to the environmental agencies as required • Produce various claim related reports • Create monthly claims Report • Forward claims with reported injuries to the insurance carrier • Participate in Quarterly Claims Audit with insurance carrier
Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree • Previous experience in risk management preferred 5 years
